In 2025, I stayed at Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport(ロッテシティホテル金浦空港 / 롯데시티호텔 김포공항)four times: in March, May, July, and October. Every stay was part of a Haneda–Gimpo round trip between Tokyo and Seoul.
Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport is not the hotel I would choose for a fancy Seoul hotel stay, but when I use Gimpo Airport, this is one of the easiest hotels for me.
Across different seasons, my impression has stayed almost the same.
The hotel is not new or glamorous. But it is practical, easy to use, and very comfortable for my travel style.
I do not read Hangul well. I do not want to move around Seoul with heavy luggage. I do not like depending too much on buses or taxis. I also prefer a quiet, simple evening before or after a flight.
For that kind of trip, Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport works extremely well.
It is connected to LOTTE MALL Gimpo Airport, and the Gimpo Airport area has Lotte Mall, Lotte Mart, shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a convenience store.
That is why this hotel is more than just an airport hotel to me.
It is a low-stress base for a Gimpo-based Seoul trip.
I would choose this hotel again when I fly in or out of Gimpo International Airport.

My stays were around US$150 per night. Prices change by season and day, and agoda shows them in your local currency, so treat my number only as a rough anchor from my 2025 stays.

The walk: about 15 minutes underground, or 10 minutes outside
This hotel is connected to the terminals by an underground passage, so on paper it sounds very close.

In my experience, the underground walk from the International Terminal took about 15 minutes. It is all indoors, flat, and safe, but it is not short. Also it closes 10PM to 10 AM, as I remember, you are able to go through the mall with saying “to Airport” “to International Terminal”. After an evening arrival with a suitcase, it felt like a real walk, not a quick transfer.
Walking above ground is actually faster — about 10 minutes for me. But then the weather decides for you. In the rain you will get wet, and in a Seoul winter that walk would be freezing. In March, I went to the ground route, and almost frozen.
I have only used the International Terminal, so I cannot review the route to/ from the Domestic Terminal.
If you are flying the Haneda–Gimpo route like me, see also my reviews on the Tokyo side: Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu Review and Haneda Terminal 2 guide.
Check-in was at a staffed counter
Check-in and check-out were handled at a normal front desk with staff. No self-service kiosks like the ones I used at Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu — whether that is a plus or a minus depends on your taste.
The rooms: I stayed on both the airport side and the inner side
Across my four stays, I had rooms facing the airport and rooms facing the inner side of the building.

The terminal view rooms make the location obvious. The inner-side rooms trade the view for a calmer feeling.

Was it noisy? Yes in the daytime — but the nights surprised me
I will be honest: during the day and evening, I did notice noise. This is a hotel at a working airport inside a shopping mall, and it sounds like one.
But late at night and early in the morning, it was quiet. On all four stays, I slept without being bothered.
Of course, noise depends on the room, the day, and your own sensitivity.
As of 2026, Gimpo Airport enforces a nightly curfew for noise abatement: takeoffs and landings are normally restricted from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am, with exceptions for emergencies and special cases. So unlike a 24-hour airport such as Haneda, the planes here simply stop at night.
I would still not promise that every room will be quiet — room location and the day matter. But the lack of regular overnight flights is a real advantage that I did not expect before my first stay.
But my impression was not, “This is an airport hotel, so it is noisy all night.”
It was much quieter than I expected.
Rooms
The hotel itself does not feel new. But on all four stays, my rooms were carefully maintained and clean, and they felt spacious enough for me. For a one-night airport stop, I never felt cramped.

One thing I appreciated during my stay was that the room was equipped with universal 220V power outlets. I was able to charge my devices without needing a Korean USB chargers, which made packing a little easier for you, I suggest.

As a traveler from Japan, I found Seoul noticeably drier than home, and the dry air was uncomfortable at times. I asked the front desk if a humidifier was available, and they kindly provided one for my room. It made a big difference, especially overnight.

Hot water on every floor — no kettle needed
One small thing I liked: there is a water dispenser on each floor, with hot water. I did not have to boil water in my room every time I wanted something hot. Combined with my Lotte Mart routine, this made eating and drinking in the room very easy.
Bring your own toothbrush
Like many hotels in Korea, do not expect a free toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. I bring my own from Japan on every trip. If you forget, I suggest you are able to purchase at 7-11 on the ground floor, or go Lotte Mart what I describe below.

My Lotte Mart strategy — and the Sunday trap
I did not eat breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot review it.
This is a personal choice.
When I travel in Korea, my stomach can get tired. Many Japanese travelers seem to enjoy the breakfast here, but I personally prefer to avoid spicy food before a flight. Since all four of my stays were overnight transit stays, buying food at Lotte Mart suited me much better.
For me, Korean food does not always fit my body well, especially in the morning. Also in 2025, I stayed 4 times, and all are for transit. I have also seen reviews saying the breakfast can include spicy items, so I prefer not to take that risk before a flight or a travel day.
Instead, I used Lotte Mart, the supermarket inside the same mall complex. My routine on every stay was the same: after check-in, go down to the mart, buy dinner and something for the next morning, and eat in my room. For a one-night airport stop, this was affordable, easy, and honestly one of my favorite things about this hotel.
This is one example, they are my dinner, breakfast, and souvenir.

I also prefer eating quietly in my room rather than going to a busy breakfast area.
This hotel makes that easy.
One warning, though. The mall complex itself is open year-round, but the mart follows different rules. As of 2026, store information for Lotte Mart Gimpo Airport lists it as closed on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, under Korea’s mandatory closure rules for large supermarkets — and this information can change. If your stay falls on a Sunday, check the current month’s schedule before you build your dinner and breakfast plan around the mart.
The mall’s general opening hours are around 10:30 am to 10:00 pm, with some stores differing, so a very late arrival may also find things closed.
7-11on the ground floor
Another example.
On the flight to Gimpo from Haneda, it was evening-night. I had purchased one on Haneda Airport, and visit 7-11 on the ground floor of this Lotte City Gimpo Airport.

That is a small thing, but it matters when you are tired.
Breads in Gimpo Airport Station
When I arrived at Inchon Airport and moved to this Lotte City, I found there was a bread store in Gimpo Airport Station.

I thought I was buying an ordinary savory bread, but after the first bite, I practically jumped out of my seat because it was so spicy! If you don’t handle spicy food well, don’t judge a snack by its appearance in Korea.
Would I stay here for a Seoul city trip?
So far, I have used this hotel only around my Haneda–Gimpo flights, so I cannot review it as a sightseeing base yet.
But for my next Seoul-focused trip, this is where I plan to stay — and the reason is luggage. Seoul’s subway stations sit deep underground, and many of them double as emergency shelters, so moving a suitcase through them means long stairs, sometimes hard to find elevators. Buses and taxis are an option, but the driving style in Seoul is too rough for my taste. If my suitcase stays in a hotel next to the airport, I can move around the city with only a light bag, and my arrival and departure days become very simple.
When I actually test this plan, I will update this review.
It means it matches the way I travel.
English worked at the front desk
Another reason I feel comfortable returning to this hotel is the front desk.
In my stays, the front desk staffs were always able to communicate with me in English.
I do not speak Korean, neither read Hangul.
I could handle check-in and basic questions in English. I am not saying every staff member at every time will always speak perfect English, but in my stays, I did not feel stuck at the front desk.
For travelers who are not confident in Korean language, this is a real comfort point.
Who I think this hotel is good for
I think Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport is a good fit if you:
- are flying in or out of Gimpo Airport
- are not very familiar with Korea
- not familiar with Korean language
- want to avoid moving heavy luggage across Seoul
- do not want to depend too much on buses or taxis
- do not plan to go out late at night
- prefer having a mall, supermarket, and convenience store nearby
- want a practical hotel rather than a special hotel stay
If your main goal is nightlife, late dinners in the city, or staying close to Myeongdong, Hongdae, or Gangnam, this may not be the best location.
But if your trip is built around Gimpo Airport, this hotel can make the whole trip feel much easier.
My practical takeaway
Lotte City Hotel Gimpo Airport worked for me because my trips were built around the Haneda–Gimpo route, I like feeding myself from a supermarket, and I value a quiet night more than a short walk.
The 15-minute underground walk is the price of entry. The quiet nights and the mart downstairs are what you get for paying it. Across four stays in one year, that trade kept being worth it for me.
