In January 2024, I went to Malaysia, and on my way home, I arrived at Kansai Airport (KIX, also known as Kanku) in Osaka at night. I stayed at Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport (ホテル日航関西空港), which is just a short walk from the terminal. It was my third or fourth time staying there, but my first time in this decade.

The hotel is safe, convenient, and I was able to sleep peacefully.
My room had a view of the terminal.

Room
While the room felt a bit old, it seemed like they were renovating as of August 2024. Even though it’s slightly dated, it was clean and well-kept, so I had no issues.

It seemed like all the single rooms were booked, so I had to reserve a double. The room was too dark for me to work in, so I decided to give up working after my flight.

They provided two water bottles.

Bathroom
Here’s the bathroom. There are many amenities, though this may change depending on regulations.

One downside is that it doesn’t have a separate shower booth and bathtub system.

The staff were polite, of course, since this is my home country!
Some people say the restaurants cater mostly to foreign tourists, but I didn’t eat there. It is because in the same building, there’s a Lawson convenience store. If you’re looking for a late-night snack or a small breakfast, I recommend checking it out.
Naturally, I did too.

Plugs
What type of plugs do you use? U.S./Japanese-style? Continental European/Korean style? Australian? British/Hong Kong/Singaporean?
It seems to be a regulation, but I haven’t seen hotels with multi-plug outlets here. Also this room is dated, there were no USB outlets.

Japanese (regular) is 100V, and the same shape with the U.S.
Way to go
Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport is located in the “Aeroplaza.” From Terminal 1, head towards the JR/Nankai station and you’ll find it there. I haven’t used Terminal 2, I don’t know. I rarely fly by LCC, by the way.

You can even bring your luggage cart up to the entrance of the hotel.

What do you look for in a terminal hotel at an international airport? Fancy equipment? Personally, I need a comfortable stay, polite staff, and a convenient location. This hotel is a great place to sleep if you arrive at KIX late at night or have to leave early in the morning.
